The DRM Consortium hosted events in collaboration with three of its key members on Sept. 8 and 9 to demonstrate efficiency aspects of the DRM technology.

Attendees saw a new system at the Thomson booth for enhancing shortwave broadcasts on Sept. 8 at 11:00 a.m. They learned how to save energy using precorrection in DRM transmitter systems at the Transradio booth at 3:00 p.m. the same day. The efficient use of DRM + and DRM30 was demonstrated with a live transmission at the Nautel booth on Sept. 9 at 3 p.m.

According to the consortium, the sessions were practical, offered updates and insights into the latest developments.

“Our presence at IBC this year will be bigger and more varied than ever,” Ruxandra Obreja, DRM Consortium chairman said before the show. “Updates on new chipset and receiver developments, the launch of the implementation guide, sharing information with so many DRM experts and enthusiasts will hopefully demonstrate that DRM is turning from a theoretical digitization solution to a practical, complete and green one.”
