RadioDNS Technology Is Demo'ed in U.S.

RadioDNS has posted a video from its first U.S. demo.

The project seeks to better integrate broadcast radio and the Internet. RadioDNS worked with four FM Clear Channel stations in California to show audio and video synched to program content. This was also the first time RadioDNS was demonstrated running on a mobile phone, using the built-in FM tuner. The demo app can be installed on a Nokia N900 phone; it was developed by Peter Redhead of Global Radio in the United Kingdom.

This demo was done during a Radio Ink trade publication seminar; organizers said in a newsletter that they are seeking other opportunities to demo the technology.

Separately, the RadioDNS board recently named three teams to work on applications.

RadioVIS will be led by Andy Buckingham of Global Radio, RadioEPG will be led by Ben Matthew of Absolute Radio and RadioTAG will be led by Ben Poor of Global Radio. Farthest along is the protocol RadioVIS for adding text and visuals synched to a program.
