Will Mexico be the next HD Radio battleground for the big transmitter companies?

Nautel said its V10 HD Radio model has been placed on-air as part of the first commercial FM HD Radio live broadcast operation in that country .

The station is Uniradio’s XHTY(FM), “La Invasora.” Nautel said it was Mexico’s first licensed FM HD Radio broadcaster; it serves northern Mexico but is also big in the metro San Diego area.

Gustavo Astiazaran is CEO/president of Uniradio; the company has 12 stations including five in the San Diego-Tijuana region.
