| COMMENTS (2) | | Anonymous - 03/30/2009 | | The "HD" will never replace FM or AM, this is a fact, because too many problems for recieve the "HD" signals without multipath, first cause of trouble to be continued tuned in "HD" into the big urban areas. Second problem, the royality cost of the "chip iBiquity" wich rise up the overall cost of the receiver, and the last problem, for the noise and protect ratio in the adjacent FM channels (some little radio must to be close in the dial if all radio station go in "HD" standard)this good news for the big network and not for little radio station. |
| | Anonymous - 03/25/2009 | | Radios will never have "HD" standard, because of poor battery life and costs (iBiquity's chipset fees). Most manufacturers have given up on HD Radio. The system simply doesn't work, and never will. Time for iBiquity's investors to walk away from this farce. One can't compare the advent of analog FM to HD Radio - HD Radio is not much different, and actually, deficient. To many other consumer choices, at this point. |
