Chaparral Broadcasting has sold eight radio stations and four translators in Idaho and Wyoming to Rich Broadcasting.

The assets were purchased for a price tag of $3.7 million, enabling Rich Broadcasting to increase economic efficiencies “on both the revenue side and on the operating side with the addition of these eight stations” in the resort markets of Jackson Hole, Wyo., and Sun Valley, Idaho, according to Jody McCoy, the broker who represented Chaparral Broadcasting.

McCoy also pointed out that the stations are “geographically close to Rich Broadcasting’s existing radio clusters, covering Idaho Falls, Pocatello and Rexburg, Idaho.” She added “cost savings will most likely include the traffic and billing functions, news and sports gathering and engineering.”

The sale included KMTN(FM), KZJH(FM), KJAX(FM) and KSGT(AM) (serving Jackson, Wyo.); KECH(FM), KSKI(FM) and KYZK(FM) (licensed to Sun Valley); KOUW(FM) (licensed to Island Park, Idaho). The deal also featured the Teton Village, Wyo., translator K265DA; K296EG in Jackson, Wyo., K276DW in Ketchum, Idaho and K239AU in Driggs, Idaho.
