Elenos Brings Transmitters to U.S. Market
|
Italian transmitter maker Elenos Group isn’t
completely new to the U.S. market but it hasn’t previously made a serious
effort to penetrate the market. That is changing.
The company has been running an Elenos distribution and service arm through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Miami-based 305 Broadcast, also an equipment rep for the Americas for a number of other companies that will continue in its business. The newly configured Elenos USA will put some lessons learned there to use. New personnel have been recruited. One recent hire is Mary Ann Seidler, a sales veteran of Tieline Technology and Telos Systems. Seidler is sales director for the operation.
The President of Elenos USA Alfonso Lopez said, “There have always been concerns toward European
manufacturers entering the U.S. market — the biggest stumbling block has
usually been service and support. I’m confident that we’re well positioned to
leap over that hurdle.”
One new product to see is the ETG5000
transmitter (shown). Elenos says that the ETG5000 is equipped with hardware,
software and the features needed for efficient high-quality daily operation,
even under stressful environmental conditions. According to the company the
ETG5000’s output range delivers very high efficiency at low temperatures,
resulting in energy savings and an increased product lifespan.
Other advantages, says Elenos, are a new,
clean design that highlights its reduced weight and dimensions without
sacrificing either power or efficiency. The ETG5000 is remote-controllable via
the Web by way of the “Cloud Remote Control” application along. Mobile versions
of the app are available for Apple and Android smart devices.
Among its main technical characteristics
the ETG5000 features an adjustable output nominal power of 5,000 W in a 4 RU
space. Seven BLF578 ICEFET Ecosaving MOSFET modules drive the amplifier
section. There are six onboard cooling fans. It has an automated switch-on for
handling short interruptions of main power.
