Arbitron’s new chief financial officer starts work at the end of the month.

Debra Delman’s official title is executive vice president, finance and chief financial officer; she begins the new gig on Aug. 28.

She comes to Arbitron from NPR, where Delman has been senior vice president, strategic operations and finance since 2009, and was recently appointed chief strategy officer. Delman’s held similar stints at Discovery Networks, Emmis International and Hearst-Argyle Television.

Delman succeeds Sean Creamer, who has been interim chief financial officer since May when Richard Surratt left the company.
