Can a former pirate radio operation be legit?

The Pahrump Valley Times of Nevada reports that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., intervened with the FCC to allow an unlicensed broadcaster back on the air.

A Jan. 29 letter from the commission to Radio Goldfield Broadcast Inc. owner Rod Moses allows his pirate station to operate, moving from 100.3 to 106.3 FM, at 100 watts. His operation had been raided and shut down by the FCC last June.

According to the account, Moses can operate with special temporary authority until he can apply for an LPFM license in a future filing window. There is no open window now.

Ever try to get in a station that is distant to an IBOC station, broading closer to you? While being adjacent, there is the factor of proximity as well. Audience reception is not all local stations, take the blinder off. While being technical, remember the audience ??
