Sirius XM Expects to Hit 25 Million Subs This Year

Subscriber numbers are up at Sirius XM Radio.
It
said it ended the year with 23.9 million subscribers, and had 2 million net
subscriber additions in 2012.
CEO Jim Meyer is
the one quoted in its PR now that Mel Karmazin has left the building.
“SiriusXM set a post-merger record of 2 million net additions
in 2012, and we expect to report financial and operating results that meet or
exceed all of the guidance we provided for 2012,” Meyer said in the
announcement.
“Net self-pay subscriber additions in 2012
increased over 30% to more than 1.6 million, turning in our best performance
since 2008.”
Meyer noted that the company soon will launch
a customization feature and said he expects subscribers to surpass exceed 25
million in 2013.
