Satellite radio’s Howard Stern wants some $300 million he believes he’s due from his employer, SiriusXM.

He’s filed paperwork in New York to put an appeal in motion, reports the New York Daily News.

The filing challenges an April court dismissal in favor of the company.

The case began in 2004 when Stern announced he would be leaving terrestrial radio to join Sirius in 2006 for a reported $500 million over five years. Back then, Sirius had some 673,000 subscribers.

By 2008, the satcaster said its subscription base had grown to 20 million. Stern and his agent filed the suit in May 2011, saying they were owed bonuses based on the subscription increase. This April, a New York Supreme Court judge dismissed the suit, saying the wording in Stern’s original contract was clear.

Neither reps for Stern nor SiriusXM would comment, according to the account.
