Broadcast Music Inc. elected Commonwealth Broadcasting Corp. President/CEO Steve Newberry to its board at the company’s annual shareholder meeting this week in Nashville.

Newberry takes the seat being vacated by retired Gannett Broadcasting Chairman/CEO Cecil Walker.

Newberry is past NAB joint board chairman, as well as former chair of NAB’s Radio board and the NAB PAC. He was also president of the Kentucky Broadcasters Association.

The BMI board also reelected president/CEO Del Bryant, Bustos Media President Amador Bustos and Cabo Tres Publishing and PAJ Publishing President Phil Jones.

All will serve terms that will expire in 2016.
