SweetJack Launches in New York City
With its expansion of 36 cities, including New York, SweetJack, a local deals website owned by Cumulus Media, becomes one of the country’s largest daily deals sites, with operations in in 97 markets nationwide.
According to Cumulus, SweetJack is the only daily deals website with a strong relationship with radio. By the end of 2012, 1,400 radio stations will provide $100 million worth of on-air promotion in 200 SweetJack markets per year, says the company.
SweetJack offers deals from each city’s restaurants, shops, salons and performance venues. Businesses that provide deals through SweetJack will participate in advertising and branding on Cumulus and Clear Channel radio stations, which reach approximately 250 million listeners weekly, according to the company.
“Daily Deals are a natural extension of radio’s business model. We connect thousands of merchants with millions of customers every day,” said Lew Dickey, CEO of Cumulus. He added that SweetJack was a “way for us to leverage our reach and relationships to facilitate local commerce.”
Launched by Cumulus last year, SweetJack has built its user base to approximately four million members. The deals are accessible by email, SweetJack.com and iPhone and Android apps.
