And awards season continues, as RadioFlag, the radio-oriented social website, has announced winners for their inaugural Radio Star Awards, Class of 2012, which continues their mission of recognizing indie, community and college radio talent across the country.

Launched April 4 of last year, the University of California, Irvine-based RadioFlag issued a statement about its award winners on their website, acknowledging how stiff the competition had been and explaining, “Winners were selected based on their content, talent and presentation.” They added that the winners here “best represented college radio overall.”

Because many category winners, who were selected by a team of current college students and recent college graduates, ended in a tie, RadioFlag said that some of the prize money ($1,000) would be split two or four ways.

Winners also received a RadioFlag banner, naming the station, artists, show and broadcasters.
