Web Radio’s Radionomy Opening U.S. Office
Radionomy, a service that enables users to personalize their Internet radio streams into their “own” music and talk stations, is establishing a U.S. office in preparation for a launch in this country.
Based in Brussels, the company that formed in 2008 says it has 6,000 Internet radio stations using the service and claims 42 million listening hours a month.
The U.S. office is in San Francisco, in the heart of that city’s financial district.
Radionomy says its users craft the programming and Radionomy does the rest, including online broadcasting, rights management, scheduling and audience reporting.
The company recently signed an agreement with digital advertising company TargetSpot to handle commercializing Radionomy in the U.S., for national ads that are targeted and geolocated.
Their agreement will also allow Radionomy to sell the U.S. inventory of TargetSpot to European advertisers.
TargetSpot’s distribution partners include CBS Radio, AOL Radio, Entercom and Live 365.
Radionomy plans to launch in the U.S. later this month.
