For the second time in four months we hear news of a radio technical industry colleague who has died on a motorcycle. Several readers wrote me today to make sure we knew of the death of Steve Claterbaugh in an accident not far from Dallas on Sunday. Claterbaugh was one of four bikers killed when a car hit them. When last I spoke with him, Steve worked for component supplier Comet North America, which he joined in 2005 as a sales manager for broadcast and industrial applications; but many readers will remember him from his years at Crown Broadcast and Continental Electronics. He more recently worked as a consultant. My sympathies are with him and his family.

Re: Bike Accident Takes Life of Steve Claterbaugh
To Steve's family and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Steve in April at my daughter Kathy's house in Wylie, TX. He was there cutting her grass. He wanted it to be a surprise. Which it was. He was a very nice polite, caring man. When he was done with "the surprise". We had a very nice conversation. He talked about his beautiful daughters. He was beaming when he spoke of them. This told me he was a great person. He did so many nice things for me while I was visiting my daughter. I am so glad I got to meet him. My prayers are with his family that they find the strength in live on in memory. Kathy Smith's Mom Shirley Sterling
