RadioTime Tuner Is Live for Clear Channel, Cox Stations

4.11.2008

RadioTime will be in a suite in Las Vegas telling radio managers about its new Internet tuner.

The tuner lets listeners access streams of syndicated programs on their computers and new network music players that have radio “built-in” such as the Linksys DMA 2200 Media Center Extender and the Logitech Squeezebox Duet, Squeezebox and Transporter network music players.

The new tuner is now live for all Clear Channel and Cox Radio stations.

Earlier, content from those two broadcast companies was accessible from a desktop using the broadcaster’s unique player, RadioTime said. “Now, devices with radio built-in allow listeners to access these companies’ content along with Internet and traditional radio from one place,” RadioTime said.

“Music lovers leveraging these technologies can listen to their personal digital music collection, Internet radio and subscription services on the home-entertainment system in their living rooms, the stereo system in their bedrooms and even on the mini-system in their kitchens — anywhere they have audio gear.”

The company’s Bill Moore said that while radio broadcasters often restrict their Internet feeds to their own desktop players, those won’t work in new radio products.

“Now a listener can tune into Atlanta’s legendary news/talk station WSB or the Rush Limbaugh program using wireless players in multiple rooms in the home, such as the Logitech Squeezebox,” he stated in the announcement.

The company will be showing its technology in a suite at the Venetian during the NAB Show. Also read more about the company in Radio World’s recent article here.
