| GSS, Jump2Go Play Tag on RDS |

Global Security Systems now has a marketing partnership with Jump2Go, a provider of song tagging, ad messaging and mobile commerce for stations using RDS.
“This partnership is intended to speed adoption by stations of both the Jump2Go technology and GSS’s Alert FM system that enables local Emergency Management messaging and National Weather Service alerts to the public,” they stated.
RDS, which occupied a quiet corner of the FM radio industry for many years after its heralded introduction in the early 1990s, has enjoyed flourishing times of late. The companies said RDS is “a fast-growing aspect of station operations, utilizing available FM bandwidth to transmit non-broadcast content.”
The two companies pointed to new technology to create tagging and texting that can be downloaded to FM-enabled devices including car radios, cell phones, MP3 players and Alert FM receivers.
The announcement of a marketing agreement was made by Robert Adams of GSS and Allen Hartle of Jump2Go.
Jump2Go provides song and artist tagging technology. “Their exclusive RDS broadcast and iTunes tagging capabilities enable mobile devices to interact with the Web, and allow our partner stations to generate enormous non-traditional revenues,” Adams said.
GSS will be offering Jump2Go tag-text technology as part of its Alert FM broadcaster package with no initial cost to stations, he said.
