Nav Firm Will Use Clear Channel Traffic Data

10.31.2008

Clear Channel added another business partner to its traffic network enterprise.

Horizon Navigation, which makes in-vehicle navigation technology, will incorporate traffic data from Clear Channel Radio's Total Traffic Network into its NavMate software.

John Angerman of Horizon said the deal makes it easier for manufacturers to incorporate navigation maps and real-time traffic on GPS systems.

He made the announcement with Clear Channel's Jeff Littlejohn, who said in the announcement, "The NavMate software already calculates the optimal route to any destination and provides detour routes when roadwork is ahead, and with the addition of CCTTN, consumers will now have the most accurate real-time traffic information to eliminate the guesswork in traveling."
