| Braves Announcer Skip Caray Dead |

Atlanta braves broadcaster Skip Caray died Sunday, Aug. 3 at age 68.
No cause of death was immediately reported, however he said this April he was battling diabetes, congestive heart failure, an irregular heartbeat and reduced kidney and liver functions. He reduced his broadcast schedule to home games beginning in the 2008 season.
Skip, the son of Harry Caray, the voice of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, got his start in broadcasting in radio in 1963, calling games for the Tulsa Oilers minor-league baseball team. This season was his 33rd in the Atlanta Braves broadcast booth.
He is survived by his wife, Paula and his broadcaster sons Chip and Josh, as well as daughters Shayelyn and Cindy, and seven grandchildren.
