| GTN Will Use Comrex Codecs |

Comrex said Vortex Communications Ltd., its distributor in the United Kingdom, signed a “major” contract with traffic and travel news provider Global Traffic Network to supply Comrex IP audio codecs and accessories.
“Each of GTN’s affiliates within the UKRD group will be using a Comrex Access Voice over IP codec to receive its travel reports,” the manufacturer stated.
Ian Prowse of Vortex called Global Traffic Network “the leading supplier of traffic and travel news outside of the U.S.” Paul Hutton is managing director of GTN in Europe. GTN is also using portable Access units, and Comrex said affiliates are also beginning to use the same codecs for covering soccer matches and remote events.
