Performance Racing Network is working out of its new studios at Lowes Motor Speedway.
Harrill Hamrick of Broadcast Technical Services in Mooresville, N.C., is the contract engineer; he said the technical team installed an SAS audio routing system with Rubicon control surfaces.
“All of the audio is networked using units called RIOLinks that connect back to the TOC (which is in Control One) using one regular network cable,” he wrote.
“It all connects to a 32KD Routing Switcher. When the system is complete we will even have a RIO that we will be able to connect to the system using two strands of fiber. The Lowes Motor Speedway has fiber installed in many locations. We will be able to take the RIO to the Media Center or the camera platform outside Turn 3 and do a remote if we like. The unit’s main function will be to connect our booth to our studio during race times.”
Installation is by RAM Systems, which also built control room and production room furniture.
Hamrick has been working with PRN for 20 years as of last month, he told RW.
