Mayah Starts Shipping New Sporty

06.10.2008

In addition to its extensive communication functionality, the Mayah Communications Sporty reporter codec offers users an audio recording capability.

The Sporty can send and receive audio signals via IP/Ethernet and also via optional Wi-Fi/WLAN or UMTS/3G/3.5G interfaces. To guarantee connectivity even in situations with limited telecommunications access, Sporty offers an ISDN interface and support for conventional analog PSTN/POTS lines.

For live transmission, the Sporty offers MPEG-4 HE-AAC v2 and AAC ELD. Other algorithms supported include G.711, G.722, MPEG-1/2 Layer II, Layer III, linear audio and, optionally, 4SB ADPCM and apt-X/Enhanced apt-X.

Audio logging in MPEG-4 HE-AAC v2 and in conventional formats is possible thanks to integrated SD card or USB interfaces.

The unit has a large display, intelligent control wheels, programmable function soft-keys and full-featured numeric keypad.
